About this course

Adobe After Effects is an intuitive and accessible compositing solution, allowing a high level of creative freedom for the designer, animator, art director or desktop video professional.

This course provides a detailed knowledge of desktop compositing using After Effects for those interested in progressing beyond simple editing. Indeed, a good knowledge of this product is becoming essential to those working in all but the simplest post-production environments.

What you will learn

This course will provide you with sufficient knowledge to work competently with Adobe After Effects. By the end of the course you should understand the fundamentals of video compositing through a series of increasingly complex examples.

Please note: After Effects is a sophisticated program and not all topics can be covered in just two days. You should, however, develop enough confidence to explore further with your own projects.

We'll begin by establishing basic editing techniques and principals before moving on to a thorough exploration of the Premiere interface and the major features of the program. The course will include simple title creation, transitions and effects, along with guidance as to when to use (and when not to use) the many special effects and enhancements included in the program. During the course you will assemble video sequences, audio tracks and graphics to create a short video production suitable for output to DVD, Quicktime or MPEG.
